I think I need to see a GP…
You should look out for certain symptoms to escalate to the pharmacist or the customer’s GP.
The customer is at risk of a bacterial infection if they develop broken skin, which could, if left untreated, result in the following:4
- Skin that oozes fluid
- Yellow crusts on the skin
- Swollen and sore skin
- Yellow-white spots on affected areas
- Fever.
Any of the above symptoms would need GP referral. Customers with large areas of eczema should be referred to the pharmacist.
